EACS is a 501(c)3 whose mission is to be an inclusive organization dedicated to improving the well-being of East African refugees and their families in King County while encouraging refugee families to preserve their diverse cultural heritage. EACS was established to provide culturally specific advocacy, information, referral and direct social services to East African refugees living in King County. Our vision is to develop and strengthen the capacity of East African refugees in King County at the individual, family, and community levels. We do this by helping them achieve naturalization through our citizenship classes and direct case management and by providing English as a Second Language classes and a computer lab. EACS also hosts five education programs, the Culturally Appropriate Responsive Education Center (CARE Center), the African Eagles high school club, the After School Tutoring Program, the Parent Educational Empowerment Program, and the Summer Learning Camp.

We need items related to pet services, primarily for dogs and cats, such as: crates/ kennels, bedding, linens and towels; dog/ cat food (preferably a hypo allergenic diet of lamb or salmon, grain free). We also need assistance with the transportation of these pets in terms of gas cards; an SUV with reasonable mileage and maintenance, assistance with maintenance and care. Also the storage and organization of our donations in terms of a storage space and organization items like shelving, tubs, bins and boxes.

High Road Community Meal

We feed 80-90 people each week a free community meal. Seniors, singles, families and everyone who is needy, unemployed, underemployed and the poor. This occurs every Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm. We have been dong this for over a year now. We need all types of meat and large can vegetable items specifically, hamburger, whole chickens and chicken breasts.

During the holidays we serve two large holiday meals consisting of turkey and ham. Whole frozen turkeys and hams needed. Holiday foods of every kind needed. New warm winter coats needed to distribute during meals.
